One of my New Year's Resolution is to invite colours and prints into my life, as well as to put an end to the black & black & more black outfits. And yes, I've managed to do it, despite me being known to not be able to fulfill the tasks I've set for myself. Below are some outfits I've come up with, and hopefully yours truly, Guru Seyfried, is able to give you guys some inspiration for the upcoming Summer look!
Denim Blazer & Shorts - FeistHeist / White Tee - Topshop / Pewter Clutch - ASOS / Ksubi Inspired Eyewear - thecultlabel
From the MKA photo I've chanced upon online, having similar coloured clothing paired with each other has been my favourite and highlight of the year (aka co-ord in short). Yes, I've been going crazy (like seriously crazy) over clothing that are of matching colours, scanning through stores to find the pair of shorts that matches with a shirt I've picked. Moreover, Denim is also perfect for the casual summer look, so why not try pairing a denim shirt up with a shorts in the same shade?
Chino Shorts, all from Topman
Having to wear jeans or pants is just impossible (not that impossible though) to survive from the heat during summer, so why not opt for something casual yet comfortable like Chino Shorts? Chino Shorts have been one of my favourites since who-knows-when. Plus, with colours being popular this summer, it's time to stack up a variety of different colour shorts into your closet! For those who do not have those dream VS Angels legs, try to select shorts that have a broader thigh area to give an illusion of having slimmer legs! (Don't forget heels too)
Paisley-esque Shirt - Zara / Accessories - F21, H&M, ASOS / Fur Clutch - Online
Keeping your outfit simple and classy by using monochrome colours has always been one of my choices for the 'Editor-in-Chief' look. Despite this outfit being paired in only black and white, prints and faux fur definitely elevates this look by adding more textures to your outfit. Plus, throw a little patent and metallic accessories and yes, you're good to go, keeping your outfit classic yet outstanding (spot the irony, ohwell).
Floral Shirt - Zara / Red Suede Vest - TSR / Fedora - Zara
Bored with simplicity and feeling a little loud this summer? Try pairing up bright coloured clothing with prints, and you may even try matching different type of prints with one another. Do not be afraid to mix & match different prints, since the whole focus of this outfit is to stand out. If multiple prints are too much for you, try settling with having just one print, but in different colour or design. Also, with floral being a popular print this season, it is a staple/must have in one's closet!
Hope I've imparted some good tips to you guys who are facing any dilemma. The important thing is (here comes the cliche part) to not be afraid to try on something new (like me in prints and colours) and just have fun with it! I wish that this Guru's tips are helpful to all of you. Good luck & have fun! ♥
