The Discrepancy Between Burgundy & Oxblood

The omnipresent hue of red arises when Oxblood became a popular colour this fall. And as a 'non-trendy' me, I've no idea why I've decided to conform with trend and came up with this particular outfit. Plus, I am still unable to distinguish Oxblood from Burgundy, or vice versa, because they somewhat look the same, no? I bet this argument will go on interminably, but let's be real, they are both shades of red with a tinge of brown in it. Just that one has more brown than the other.

Okay, let's just settle on Maroon. Or to make things even easier, Deep Red.

Anyway, the aforementioned colour I'm in did not happen to coincide with trend on purpose. Believe it or not, it was a plain accident. That's because I have this secret journal (secret if you consider an iPhone with a passcode) that contains my daily style inspiration by fully utilizing the armory I have in my closet. And I happened to be like 'I'm feeling a little red today'. Yes, I don't go like 'I'm feeling a little - oxblood/burgundy/maroon/insert whatever colour you like to call - today' simply because I'm not that colour inclined. I still prefer to stick to the original colour spectrum on a daily basis.

I think I just rambled too much.

Also, me and a friend of mine had a discussion on the discrepancy between Burgundy and Oxblood. Luckily we both stand on the same sides, otherwise I'm sure it'll be World War 3 in Fashion terms. When my friend told me that she has a friend who insisted that oxblood isn't the same (nor similar) as burgundy, it got me pondering on this redundant somewhat interesting question. Are they actually (very) different or is it just human nature, that they prefer bringing up the word Oxblood because it just sounds way cooler than Burgundy?

And I believe it's the latter.

Whatever, I'm just going to stick with Deep Red. Just like the deep red lip charm on my left wrist.

P/S: Look out for the next post for more details about the bag!

P/S/S: And Happy Birthday to me! :D
