The What I (Never) Wore

It's fashion week month! All that really constitutes to this enjoyable month does not necessarily boil down to designers amply forecasting and projecting what we'll wear the next season, but most of which we actually crave for is the array of street style we'd see to get our daily dosage of indispensable inspiration from. From many individuals' screens of style.com to the lenses of Tommy Ton's, we'd always see the French, the Italians, the New Yorkers, the Russians and Anna dello Russo. Fashion week (or month) not only populates our closets for the next season, but they'd also in fact cause us to stash up a whole bunch of current season designer wears (and/or cheaper alternatives; cue Zara and H&M Studio '14) that we'd find ourselves eventually having a Clueless moment (pun intended).

So what constitutes to this season's (off) runways?

Sliders were still the choice for footwear. Even since Phoebe Philo grazed the runways of Céline with it's furry birkenstock-styled sandals during Spring '13, it has been a hit and run hit. The debate for 'heels vs flats' have obviously left the opposition team winning at a whooping duration of four season. Nevertheless, sliders were obviously an appropriate choice as compared to those lovely strappy sandals; imagine how you'd have a difficult time running from point A to point B (if you'd miss your cab or stuck in traffic).

This was the surprising factor. Tons of colours and paint were splattered all across fashion season when we'd (I'd) least expect it during the pseudo Fall period. Above two: obligatory and colour renditioned cropped top and culottes paired with a cross body satchel whilst Céline's command of fashionable polo t-shirt worn as an oversized top (which could eventually boil down to a dress and henceforth having this debate about shirt dresses) that matched with accessories of similar yellow hues.

And then there are irises and Italians. Dapper Italians.

And the French.

And Anna. Classic Anna. There's no fashion week (or month) without the appearance of Anna dello Russo plastering her boisterous sense of style that is seemingly affluent and inspirational enough to draw your subsequent few 'outfit of the day' ideas. Indeed, there's just this je ne sais quoi fun twist about her and her style that is deemed to be entertaining, but how much are we willing to give to perform the act of similar bravery?

After all, fashion week month is always unexpected and joyous that makes our hearts flutter and our jaws suspend, which eventually pose us the true and unsuspecting question: Which runway will we actually pay to watch?
