The All New Series: Confessions of a Shopaholic Shoeaholic

An adage (adapted from Carrie Bradshaw from The Carrie Diaries) goes: When a door closes, a shoe box opens. Well, in my case, it's two. Alright, I lied. It's actually three. Okay, let's get real. It's four.

Yeah, it's four.

Do you know what I had been doing for the past few months? (Hint: regarding shoes) Immensely scrolling through the pages of Solestruck and Nastygal whilst praying to Jesus that my shoes are still encrypted (well, in this case, it's the webpage, not the shoes itself) with the word 'In stock'. I could've spend this time reading Man Repeller repetitively (not that I didn't, but still), or well, scrolling through the pages of both ASOS and Shopbop, clicking on the 'Save to wishlist' button for every single piece of garment I found attractive (in man repelling terms). Or rather something more productive, generating ideas for my upcoming portfolio (which I happened to accidentally threw them away, omg) or new OOTDs for my subsequent posts.

But no, I didn't spend my time productively. I was just there, sitting right in front of my MacBook (and also my mobile device), hoping - whilst praying real hard - that a Black Friday sale would miraculously happen in Solestruck.

And nope, it didn't happen (just in case you would like to know).

Flashback yesterday: 'Why does this always happen to me?', I thought to myself, whilst strutting limping barefooted - with blisters all over my feet five to be precise, in which I counted - back home with my Candela velvet pumps on one hand and my Alexander Wang Rockie on the other, 'Why do I always do this? Purchasing countless amount of shoes that doesn't fit well on me?'.

The Devil dictated: 'That's because shoes are your crack. And a few blisters ain't gonna bring you down. I mean, it's just a few blisters, come on. You love shoes, and you need more shoes. Beauty over comfort. That's it. Period.'

The Angel then appeared and responded: 'Oh please, it's not you, it's just that the shoes are really, really convincing. Who wouldn't fall in love with a pair of new booties? But then again, it might be you, since you always resonate around shoes and shoes and more shoes.'

'Thank you so much, that really helped,' in which I replied sarcastically.

The Angel has fallen. Now I have two devils.

'Awesome'.

But anyway, the point is that whilst limping, I became conscious that I don't abide to the saying 'If the shoe fits' (I know there's no inter-relation between the phrase and the issue but it's just an imagery to describe the situation best). Instead, I inaugurated and followed the mantra 'If the shoe doesn't fit, jab your foot in till it fits'. And this, resulted into the proliferation of one/two-sizes-too-small shoes I own.

'Beauty over comfort. Yeah... Well, at least you still look fashionable barefooted while clutching 'em babies under your arms.'

In clockwise direction:

A) Superga 2950 in Ecru, S$69.90

B) Jeffrey Campbell Daltrey in Floral (but I still prefer it to be called 'paint of life') via Nastygal, $150

C) Aldo studded wedge sneakers in White, which reminds me of how much I want a pair of Isabel Marant, S$129

D) Candela Green velvet flats via Saks, something I (accidentally and casually) snagged off the shelves during their sale, S$159

If you think that's all, wait till you see my ever perpetual shoe wish on Solestruck...

Your Second Skin

I named this post as 'Your Second Skin', partly because the above luscious, mouth-watering, to-die-for items are in a skintone/nude shade, and also they are essentials for one's outfit, which somewhat is equivalent to one's second skin.

I mean, shoes and bags do almost all the necessary pimp to one's outfit. From the Devere to Lydia to Prisma, we can all probably come to a general consensus that arm parties do not solely mean the mandatory guests on one's wrists (or in any/my case; all the way up till your forearms), but also those lust-worthy objects that you carry with everyday.

In short, I mean bags.

Let's talk about feet. If I were to recall spotting flip-flops on people who are decently extremely well-dressed, the only word I could use is, countless. You wouldn't want to be staring at those Crocs in disgust when you see someone in a flawless two piece suit or even in a gorgeous tulle dress. Or worse, those who top it with unkempt, repulsive toenails. So what's the best suggestion? Offer them with your kindest help and opinion on those Sonja Pumps. And maybe a location for some pedis.

Anyway, I've saved Lydia in my cart at Shopbop. Let's just say manrepeller in this post (Figure A) made me do that.

And yes she definitely did. (still living in self-denial and always pushing the blame to others)

P/S: My first successful collage! Hooray to me!

From Clockwise: Devere Satchel, Lydia Clutch, Sonja Mid Heel Pumps, Prisma Flat Pouch. All from Alexander Wang in Bandage.
Images all over the web with the help of Google. And yes, I did colour Google.

ASOS Mitchell

Mitchell Spike Shoes - ASOS

Just a quick update on this awesome little shoe (little in the sense that it's one size smaller) I've just received in the mail. This Mitchell Shoe was all over Tumblr, and I've decided to lay my hands on the white ones, because I do not own a pair of white shoe and the black ones were out of stock. Love the workmanship of this shoe, because of the awesome studs (heyhey stud lovers aka me) as well as the wooden soles (!!). Plus, it's 100% leather, so it's totally worth the price you pay. If any of you are interested, you can get it from here!

P/S: Just found out that the mint ones went out of stock too! ): Sorry mint lovers!

TBA

Just a quick update on showing how jubilant I am right now, because I've just received these gorgeous from Solestruck! I'm so impressed with the workmanship of this shoe, with those silver dotted studs being securely held in place in the shoe. God my expression was so spastic and epic when the postman arrived, and I immediately ripped the package. Just the box itself left me speechless, the artwork on it is absolutely gorgeous. Everything is worth every penny I've spent! Omg now I can't wait to take this babies out for a spin!

Zara, Charles & Keith, Topshop

A little sneak on the recent buys I've got. Yes, I think I got a little too over with the spending on shoes, getting some shoes returned due to the size of it (they are too big! ):) & buying more of them. But, being a total shoe-hoe, I can never get enough shoes. Also, I've recently spotted two new pairs on Solestruck, which I'm gonna get real soon :D

Now someone really needs to fund me. Or else I'll be like Rebecca from Confessions of a Shopaholic.

(P/S: Something off the shoe topic, but I got my Astrological Jewelry Hand Stand off UO, but the item came in damaged! ): Hopefully they'll send me a new piece, fingers crossed!)

Selling

Sizing: US 7 Men, US 9 Women, EURO 40

So apparently these pair of babies are not able to do me justice, because they seriously don't fit me comfortably at all (I got a size too small ugh)! So I'm selling them away @ $140! :D

Interested buyers, please email x-seann@hotmail.com!

I have an obsession with shoes. Or should I say, fetish for shoes (sounds really wrong though). My current craze for such are Jeffery Campbell's Lita (I know I'm slow but still... :/), Chelsea Shoes and Creepers. Really need to lay my hands on those Spiked Litas as well as a pair of Chelsea Shoe (The ones from Topshop, they haven't arrive in Singapore yet! ):)! :D
